Feed the meter…?

My random act of kindness today was simple. I fed a parking meter 0.75 cents today, to benefit a stranger.

Then I later found out that if someone doesn’t use it within a certain amount of time, the meter will time out and the city just keeps the money.

Totally bogus – no more parking meter RAoK’s for me!

  1. Good on you. But I’m confused. How does the meter know if someone is using the space or not? Tracking cookies and data mining? I’ve never heard of this before.

Your RAOK activities shouldn’t have to put you in danger. In some cities it’s against the law to feed parking meters for people you don’t know. Be careful out there!
